Toyota vs BMW

...so I'm thinking of getting a new car because my little Peugeout 206cc is just becoming too impractical. Poor Maria gets elbowed everytime she's in the back seat and Matt puts his arm out to reverse the car. I've been looking at the Toyota Prius but Matt doesn't like it 'coz it's "too family". Matt likes the BMW 120i which I kinda like also, but after adding all the options it costs too much (I need 17" rims and satellite navigation!). Hopefully this will be resolved after we actually test drive both of them.

This whole thing was the catalyst for an interesting conversation at work:

Me: I can't decide between the Toyota Prius or the BMW 120i
RWC (Random Work Chick): Which one do you like better?
Me: Well I like the Prius more but my partner thinks it looks "too family"
RWC: Are you thinking of starting a family?
Me: No
RWC: Why's that?
Me: Because one of us would have to get a uterus first.
RWC: *after a minute of thinking about it* OOOOOHHHH! *laughs hysterically*

Lessons Learnt

...so my ex-boyfriend messaged me out of the blue after a loooong period of radio silence. It got me thinking about how different I am from a little over two years ago. As much of an implosion my relationship with my ex-boyfriend was, it taught me:

- never change who I am
- it's easier to NOT stay angry at someone, than it is to be bitter
- after you break up, certain places, meals and songs are off limits
- a relationship doesnt' work if your friends don't like him
- everyone needs their heart broken at least once in their life
- you can't get through a break up without your friends
- in the end, you want to be with someone who will hold your hand in the movies

Apologies for not blogging in a week but I've been in sunny Port Macquarie (about 4 hours north of Sydney). I've decided I never want to live in a small town. EVER. Give me rude people and traffic and no-one-looking-you-in-the-eye any day.
