Four

...so today marks four wonderful years of being with Matt. In heterosexual years, that's twenty-eight.

Happy Anniversary baby. I love you.




We celebrated last night with the Astral tasting menu at Astral restaurant. It was one of the best meals ever. That opinion, however, could've been altered slightly by the amount of wine we consumed. We opted for the matching wines with each course - what we weren't expecting was a full glass of wine with each course. By the time we were halfway through our meal we were very, VERY buzzed. Woot!

Hungover

...so I got drunk last night. We were at Ancient Briton hotel in Glebe celebrating Darryl's 40th birthday and within the first hour I had managed to drink five glasses of sauvignon blanc. Some thoughts:

- When the party has an open bar, I tend to take advantage of this fact.
- Not that paying for drinks has ever stopped me.
- Matt & I had kebabs on the way home which I'm currently tasting right now with every burp. Usually we get kebabs when we walk home from the city, but last night we actually got our cab to drop us off at the kebab place. I feel dirty.
- My tolerance (which has always been high) is especially high after our holiday. I'm just conditioning for New York - kinda like training for a marathon.
- I almost always wake up early after a big drinking night. It's just past 7am here and we would've gotten to bed at 1am.
- I'll be drinking tonight at a friends dinner party and again on Sunday night when I'm in Adelaide for work. *pets liver fondly*

Jerome was there last night. You may remember his name from my previous post "Top 6 hot half asian guys I know", but I didn't include his picture for perusal. Well, here it is! (Thanks Anna!)

Home Sweet Home

...so we're back! Let me tell ya, it is GREAT to be home. I missed our bed SO much. We had a great time, but there really is no place like home. I haven't had time to upload all the pics yet but here's a select few to whet the appetite.

Our hotel room in Singapore got upgraded (It pays to flirt) and we were treated to a VERY swish suite at the Swissotel. That's me waving from the bathroom which is connected to the bedroom via the bathtub. You can watch TV from the tub! Also notice that the tub itself has it's own separate (smaller) TV above the tap. EVERY hotel room should be like this.

Things I Miss

...so we're having a great time in South East Asia, but there are some things I miss about home. Here are some (in order!):

- Drinking wine. NO ONE drinks wine here, probably because it's so expensive. You can get a local beer for $1 or get a bottle of wine for $40. It doesn't take a brain surgeon to calculate the cost-to-drunkeness ratio.
- Driving. Sometimes you just don't want to walk the 2 kilometres from the gym to the mall. In thirty + degree heat. After you've just worked out.
- White people. Hey, I grew up in Sydney! It's funny 'coz a white guy who wouldn't even turn my head in Sydney (let's say...a 5 out of 10) gets elevated to a 7 here in Asia because he's "exotic".

Oh, and one more thing... HAPPY BIRTHDAY MATTHEW RONALD BROADFOOT! We're going out to see the Petronas towers today for his last day as a 31 year old *single tear*. Matt, you only get better with age. I love you.
